What Calciopoly is

Calciopoly turns a local tournament — the kind run today across spreadsheets, WhatsApp groups and printed sheets — into a real competition with professional sports coverage. You create the tournament, manage teams, players, fixtures, results and live coverage, and publish a page that looks good and updates in real time at a readable address like calciopoly.it/your-tournament.

It works for 5-a-side, 8-a-side and 11-a-side football, with all the common formats. You pay €30 one-off per tournament, with no subscription: you unlock teams, fixtures, standings, statistics and live coverage, and your tournament stays online after the final, browsable in the archive.

Everything your tournament needs

Manual or random teams

Build the teams by hand, or generate them automatically in three ways: pure random, by position, balanced by skill level. You can bond players who must stay together and separate those who must not share a team: the constraints apply to every mode. Goalkeepers are a category of their own, and the proposed line-up always stays editable.

Fixtures for every format

Single group, multiple groups, straight knockout, groups plus a final stage, or a home-and-away league: the fixtures generate themselves. Date, time, pitch and referee stay editable, and postponing a match takes one tap.

Minute-by-minute live coverage

Start the match and log goals, yellow cards and red cards from the touchline. The public page shows the commentary in real time, minute by minute, and the score updates on its own.

Automatic standings and statistics

Always-current standings with configurable tie-break criteria, top scorers, assists, cards, best attack and best defence. No spreadsheet to keep up to date by hand.

A public page worth sharing

Every tournament gets a readable address like calciopoly.it/your-tournament: fast, mobile-first, and shareable on WhatsApp. The public browses everything without signing up.

Sponsors, referees and collaborators

Add sponsors with logo and placement, register pitches and referees, and invite collaborators with tailored permissions to handle results and live events alongside you.

Frequently asked questions

What is Calciopoly?

Calciopoly is an online platform to create, publish and run 5-a-side, 8-a-side and 11-a-side football tournaments. It lets you manage teams, players, fixtures, results, standings, top scorers, statistics and live match coverage, with a public page that looks good and updates in real time, reachable at an address like calciopoly.it/your-tournament.

How much does it cost to create a tournament?

Creating and running a tournament costs 30 euros, once, paid securely through Stripe. There are no subscriptions and no recurring fees: you pay once per tournament and unlock every operational feature. With a single account you can create several tournaments, each paid for separately.

Can I draw the teams at random?

Yes. Calciopoly builds the teams automatically in three ways: pure random, by position and balanced by skill level. In all three you can set constraints: pairs of players to always keep together, and pairs to keep apart. Goalkeepers are a category of their own: the system assigns at least one goalkeeper per team whenever there are enough. The proposal always stays editable before you save it.

Do the players need to sign up?

No. Players need no account at all: the organiser enters them or has them generated automatically. No sensitive player data is asked for or published. The public browses the tournament pages freely, without signing in.

How does live coverage work?

During a match the organiser (or an authorised collaborator) starts the match and logs the events minute by minute: goals, yellow cards, red cards, substitutions. The public page shows the timeline in real time, minute by minute, and the score updates automatically as goals are counted, with no page reload.

Can I run 5-a-side, 8-a-side and 11-a-side tournaments?

Yes. Calciopoly supports 5-a-side, 8-a-side and 11-a-side football, with several formats: single group, multiple groups, straight knockout, groups with a final stage, and a league with a single round or home and away. The fixtures are generated automatically from the format you pick.

Can I edit the fixtures and postpone matches?

Yes. Once the fixtures are generated you can always change the date, time, pitch and referee of any match. Postponing a match is immediate: you change the date and the status becomes 'postponed'. Every change is recorded, so you keep a history of what changed.

What does the public tournament page look like?

Every tournament has a public page at a readable address (calciopoly.it/your-tournament) gathering teams, fixtures, results, standings, top scorers, statistics, bracket, rules, sponsors and live matches. It is mobile-first, fast, and shareable on WhatsApp with one tap.

Is there a demo tournament to see before paying?

Yes. You can browse a real demo tournament to see how the public page, the standings and the live coverage look before creating your own. You can also start creating your tournament and set up the basics for free: the payment unlocks teams, players, fixtures, live coverage and publishing.

What happens to the tournament when it ends?

When the competition is over you can close the tournament. After seven days (or immediately, by hand) it is archived: it stays publicly browsable read-only, with the final results, standings, top scorers and statistics. The archive is a valuable record that stays online.

Can I add my tournament sponsors?

Yes. You can add sponsors with a logo and a link and choose where to show them (home, footer, fixtures, standings, live match, main banner). The rendering is elegant and unobtrusive, with discreet logo strips and never a popup. A sponsor can also be tied to a team.

Can I manage several pitches and several referees?

Yes. You can register several pitches and assign them to matches, with a warning when two matches overlap on the same pitch. You can add referees and assign them to individual matches. You can also invite collaborators with tailored permissions, for example to enter results and live events from the touchline.
