Cookie policy

This page lists what Calciopoly stores on your device and what it loads in your browser: which cookies, what they do, and what depends on your consent. It is short, because there are few.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They can be needed to make it work — remembering that you signed in, for instance — or to measure how it is used, or to follow you from one site to another and build an advertising profile. These are very different things, and the law treats them differently: the first are necessary and need no permission, the others do.
2. The two categories we use
Necessary. Without them the site does not work: they keep your session open after sign-in and remember the choice you make on the banner. They are always on and there is no switch to turn them off, because turning them off would mean not being able to provide the service you asked for (Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive).
Usage statistics. They tell us how many people visit a page, which country they come from and what kind of device they use, in aggregate. They are useful to us, to understand what to improve; they are of no use to you in using the site. That is why they stay off until you turn them on.
There is no third category. We do not advertise, we do not profile anyone, we do not sell data to anyone.
3. The complete list of cookies
This is all of them. There are no others hidden: the table is generated from the very file the site uses to set them, so it cannot drift from what actually happens.

4. The banner, and how it works
On your first visit a banner appears with three options of equal weight: Reject, Preferences, Accept. None is preselected, none is hidden, none is made harder to press. Refusing must cost exactly as much as accepting: that is why the three buttons are identical.
Until you choose, statistics do not start: no script is loaded and no request is sent. Closing the banner without choosing counts as a refusal, and merely continuing to browse does not count as consent.
Your choice is saved in a technical cookie on your device, so we do not ask you the same thing on every page. We ask again after six months, or sooner if we change something substantial on this page.
5. What we measure, if you consent
If you turn on «Usage statistics» we load Vercel Web Analytics, our hosting provider's measurement tool. It records which page was viewed, from which country, on what kind of device and which site you came from, and returns it to us as overall figures.
One clarification that matters: it uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device. That is why you will not find it in the table above — listing it among cookies would be inaccurate. We still ask for your consent, because it remains a measurement tool and we believe you should be able to say no.
What it does not do: it does not follow you across other sites, does not build an advertising profile, does not keep your IP address and does not connect anything to your Calciopoly account. If you refuse, that code is not even downloaded by your browser: the site works exactly as before, with nothing missing.
6. Changing your mind
You can withdraw or change your consent whenever you like, and withdrawing must be as easy as giving it: at the bottom of every page you will find the Cookie preferences link, which reopens the same panel as the banner. Withdrawal takes effect immediately.
It does not delete data already collected, because that data is aggregate figures not traceable to you: there is no profile of yours to erase.
7. Managing or deleting them in your browser
You can delete cookies or block them from your browser settings, regardless of the choices made here. Bear in mind two consequences: blocking the session cookie means you will not be able to stay signed in and the site will ask you to sign in on every page; deleting the consent cookie brings the banner back, because your choice was saved there.
Public tournament pages remain perfectly readable without any cookie and without giving any consent.
8. Third parties
When you pay, you are directed to Stripe's payment page, which is a different website from ours and sets its own cookies, needed for payment and fraud prevention. Those cookies are governed by Stripe's cookie policy, not by this one.
On our own domain, nothing third-party is embedded: no maps, no videos, no social buttons. Even the typefaces are served from our own domain, so while you read this page your browser contacts no other server.
